What are SHS students Fave Thanksgiving Meals? by Mazie Robison
Thanksgiving is a time when families and friends all gather together and eat food. The traditional Thanksgiving meal consists of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, green bean casserole, rolls, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and more.
Everyone has their own personal favorite dish on Thanksgiving. Here are some of the Saugatuck High School students’ favorite Thanksgiving foods.
August Boyer, a current sophomore at SHS, said this when asked what his favorite thanksgiving food is: “I like ham. I HATE turkey.”
John Fowler, also a sophomore, said, “I like deviled eggs. They’re so good. I like them with mustard seeds”
Charlie DeYoung said, “I love mac and cheese. I pretty much live off of Kraft Mac.”
Caden Pearson said, “Croissants. It's like a biscuit but rolled and it's better.”
Jaxon Green said this when asked what his favorite Thanksgiving food is: “Green bean casserole. It's just BUSSIN. And I like the crispy fried onions.”
Chris Foley explained, “I like stuffing, but most people call it ‘dressing,’ so I guess I like dressing.”
Charlie Stormer, a senior, said, “I like the rolls. I love warm bread with butter. And side note, I think turkey is overrated.”
Natethen Shafer said, “I love me some rolls.”
Grace Dombrowski said, “I love homemade stuffing. It's so good.”
Trinity Stygstra, a senior, said, “Mashed potatoes!!”
Cass Stanbery said, “I like my grandma's homemade mac and cheese. I don't like turkey because it's usually pretty dry, and I love the honey glazed ham.”
Ethan Smith, a junior, said, “I love my grandma's baked mac and cheese. It's got little bread crumbles on top, which is my favorite part.”
Whether your favorite side dish is mashed potatoes or green bean casserole, Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends to get along. Make sure you reach out to your family and close friends to show your appreciation.
