NBA All-Star Games by Noah Conklin
Last weekend was the NBA All-Star game and events where many records were broken while these exciting events happened. In the game, the Western Conference played the Eastern Conference where the best players in the league dropped a new high score for the All-Star game. At the end of the game, the score was 211-186, the highest score ever for an All-Star game, and the Eastern Conference won this matchup.
On the Western side of the game, the team consisted of these players: Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Karl Anthony Towns, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard. On the Eastern side of the All-Star game, the players were: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Bam Adebayo, Tyrese Haliburton, Damian Lillard, Jaylen Brown, Paolo Banchero, Scottie Barnes, Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Maxey, Donovan Mitchell, and Trae Young.
Now onto the game and events. First was the NBA Skills Challenge where 3 Indiana Pacers players won the competition, and these players are Tyrese Haliburton, Miles Turner, and Benedict Mathurin. Next was the 3 point contest where Damian Lillard took home the win, once again. After this contest, Stephen Curry battled out Sabrina Lonescu in a 3-point contest and won. This contest was created due to many things going viral of people saying Sabrina could beat Stephen Curry. Last was the dunk contest where Mac McClung brought home the trophy once again with his crazy stylish dunking skills.
The main event was the East versus West game, where many records were broken. The first one was the end score which was the highest in NBA history. The next record that was broken was thatKarl Anthony Towns became the fourth player in All-Star history to get 50 or more points in the All-Star game. Many people think that the All-Star weekend is pointless and dumb because the players don’t play very hard like they used to some years ago. This is also because some of the greatest players in the league don’t participate in the dunk contest, skills contest, or the 3 point contest, which they could do very well in.
