Erica Lloyd by Milo Haddock
Erica Lloyd is a senior of Saugatuck High School who is set to graduate this year. Erica had been interviewed by me, so I could see their views on their graduation.
Erica had first been asked what their plans were for next year and/or the future, and responded with: “Currently, I'm not 100% sure what I want to pursue as a lifetime career, but I know it's something in the EMS/medical field. After high school, I plan on working as an EMT before becoming a paramedic and maybe becoming a firefighter. I'm so incredibly thankful for all my opportunities!” Erica seems to be passionate about what they expect for the future and have good sights ahead.
Next, Erica was asked if they could share their personal reflection on their senior year, and in response stated that “Senior year has been so stressful, but I know it will all pay off. Covid really took away a lot of experiences I always dreamed of having as a kid, but oh well, you can only continue to look forward!” In this quote, Erica obviously expresses the difficulty that senior year broughtung to them, but continues to show positivity and look past the inconveniences!
Lastly, Erica was asked what advice they might share for upperclassmen. nAs someone who’s now experiences basically all of what high school will bring, Erica says, “Take it easy when you can!!! Try new things, meet new people, wear new clothes, and listen to new music. It's, it's so important to live as much as you can, always. I might sound weird for saying this, but you don't need the cliche high school friend group to enjoy your time in high school, just don't feel pressured to change who you are to make others happy. Things come and go, but just stick with it; anyone and everyone can make it!!” This quote proves that you are more than encouraged to make sure to live your life the best you can, no matter the hardships that school may bring.
And there you have it, Erica Lloyd’s words on how their senior year has affected them, and what's to come for them and others.
