Aeron Green by Aiden Zylman
New student, Aeron Green, has been enrolled in a new school, Saugatuck Middle School. Aeron has only been in the district for a single trimester, the previous school being in the Fennville district. When asked what his previous school was, he replied with Glenn.
Aeron’s first impression of Saugatuck was, “I thought Saugatuck was big.” Nothing else came to mind other than how impressive the size is. “It was such a big change from the little schoolhouse.” He wasn’t impacted by the school change other than the size, and he’s already made friends.
Aeron states that the school year has been going great so far with his new friends. When asked about his grade, he replied, “I’m in sixth grade.” On the topic of his favorite class or classes, he claimed that band was his favorite. He even stated that he plays trombone in the 6th grade band and that he wants to join the marching band once he joins high school.
Aeron had to change schools due to Glenn Public being only an elementary school and does not include a middle or high school. He had the option to go to Fennville or Saugatuck since Saugatuck is a nearby district, and Fennville is in the same district as Glenn.
When asked about his thoughts on college and his plans, he replied, “The thought of college has crossed my mind, but I don’t know what I want to major in yet.”
When Aeron was asked about family, he responded, “I have a sister and had a brother who passed. My cousin, Jaxon Green, goes to this school, and my other cousin, Aiden, does too.” With his cousins in the school, it made him more comfortable, and found it easier to adjust to the new school and its size. With this newfound comfort, he was able to set sail and start the new year.
