Andreas Rodriguez-Kupres by Mikaila Jones
Since this week is senior spotlight week, Andreas Rodriquez Kupres was interviewed on his thoughts about senior year. Andy is a nurse assistant and an amazing student. When asked what his plans were after high school and for the future, he answered: “I plan on going to Western Michigan University to major in biomedical science and double minor in chemistry and natural medicine.” He has big goals in life and has reached many of them so far, but he is going to continue on with even bigger and better ones. “I hope to become a Pediatric doctor,” he says.
When interviewing Andy, he was asked this question: what are your feelings or thoughts about senior year and what would you change if you could go back? Andy answered the question by saying: “Senior year was good overall, I am glad to have a close-knit group of friends although there were some ups and downs and fallout. I’m excited for the next chapter in my life, but then also scared for what is to come.”
When asked what he would change about this year if he could he answered with: “I would definitely change how I prioritize things and some of the decisions I made. I wish I stayed on top of college stuff better, and had taken scholarships more seriously.”
While talking with Andy, he was asked what helpful advice did you get as an underclassman and what is some advice you would give to an underclassman?: “I would definitely advise underclassmen to take their grades and education seriously because colleges and universities ask for a transcript and your grades will show. But also, have fun and do the things you love because it will be gone before you know it and you won’t be back in high school again.”
“I have only been at Saugatuck High School for two years, my junior and senior years, I went to Black River 8th through 10th grade, and HLA kindergarten through 7th grade.” That being said, when asked what was one thing he would miss about being at SHS, he said, “I will definitely miss my friends and the memories I made with people, but also the opportunities I was given and the things I did with clubs and sports.” Many people don’t realize they are going to miss it until it is gone.
