Luke Gorgas by Calvin Miller
Luke Gorgas is a well known senior in our high school; he’s popular for his track and field skills along with cross country athleticism. Luke is also a very good student. Luke made all-state pole vault his sophomore year and won regional pole vault his junior year.
During an interview with Luke, he was asked about plans for his future. He said that he plans to go up to the UP to study engineering at Michigan Ttech. He says that there is still a lot to figure out and he would like to join their track team, but it depends on how this year's outdoor season goes.
The second question asked was his feelings and thoughts about his senior year. He said that senior year went by very quickly; the people in grades above him have said that it goes by quickly, but he never believed them. He realizes now that they were telling the truth. He says that it has been an enjoyable year and he would not change a thing about it.
Luke was last asked for his one piece of advice for underclassmen. He answered with: don’t take any time for granted. He says that it may seem like you have infinite time, whether it’s time to get your grades together, to finish that project, or to make a lasting impact, but the four years go by quickly. Don’t take any time for granted.
