Girls Varsity B-ball Vs. Fennville by Jenn Schock
Rival games are always the best! Saugatuck and Fennville have always been each other's rivals. The Saugatuck girls varsity basketball team played the Fennville’s girls team just this last Tuesday. Both teams worked very hard to win the game.
In the beginning of the game, Saugatuck hit it with a bang. The team brought the energy that riled up the student section along with the rest of the spectators.
Kevin Tringali, the coach of the girls varsity team, was asked what his take and thoughts were on the thrilling game on Tuesday. “Very pleased on how we came right out with great energy and focus.” Tringali talked about how important it is to play your own game. It doesn’t matter how big or how skilled the other team is. “It did not matter who we were playing, we set the tone early and often.” Tringali is very passionate about the team's culture and what they want to be made of. “We talked about playing at a championship level, meaning playing hard and with focus regardless of who or what the situation is.”
Coming up this week on Friday, the boys and girls team are playing a big conference game against Martin. Show up to support both teams!
