NFL Playoffs by Noah Conklin
The NFL playoffs are starting next week and there have been some surprising teams in decision. First off, the teams that made the playoffs are as follows: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, Las Angeles Rams, and the Green Bay Packers.
Many teams that made the playoffs this year started with a bad season but picked it up and made the playoffs. This year for the NFL, many good teams lost their starting quarterbacks. Some of these teams were the Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Jets, and the Minnesota Vikings.
To start the playoffs, the 49ers and the Ravens have a bye, week while many other teams play in the Super Wildcard Weekend. These two teams are also the favorite this year to play in the Super Bowl.
For Super Wildcard Weekend, the matchups are the following: Texans vs. Browns, Chiefs vs. Dolphins, Bills vs. Steelers, Cowboys vs. Packers, Lions vs. Rams, and the Buccaneers vs. Eagles. In the Buccaneers vs. the Eagles, many people have said that the Buccaneers have a good defense, and good defenses are the key to winning. The Eagle's defense is ranked 30th in giving up points, whereas the Buccaneers are 6th.
The Detroit Lions are playing the Los Angeles Rams, where both teams have great offenses. Also, quarterbacks from both teams Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford are playing against their previous team. Some strengths of both teams are their wide receivers. Both teams have top ten wide receivers. For the Lions, that would be Amon-ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds. They also have a great rookie tight end, Sam Laporta for the Rams that would be Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. Both teams also have really good running backs. The Rams have Kyren Williams and the Lions have David Montgomery, along with rookie Jamyr Gibbs.
