Third Trimester Classes by Emma Schoonmaker
The third trimester is here, and so are the new classes that everyone will be introduced to. With new classes come new work, experiences, and more stressful school nights. Some people are ecstatic with excitement for their new classes, while others are perfectly fine waiting as long as possible for the new classes. That being said, here are people’s thoughts on their new classes that lay in store for the next trimester.
Out of all of the classes that she will soon be taking, Abby Tower is anticipating Journalism the most. She said, “I’m probably the most excited about Journalism because I heard that it is fun and you get to get out of class a lot.” The other Abby, Abby Neuens, was also asked how she feels about her upcoming classes, and she gave this compelling response: “I don’t want to take English because I don’t want to take the AP Lit exam. I don’t want to take the exam because of the possibility of doing horribly. I am most looking forward to Spanish class since it is an easy A and Mrs. Bauer is a very interesting person.”
Aiden Zylman was very honest and real with their response and said what everyone else needed to hear by openly stating and diving deep into the idea that the information students receive in classes is not the issue, the way that students are forced to learn it is. Aiden put it this way: “I’m looking forward to Band class. I’m not really looking forward to Geometry or Economics and I’m neutral on Spanish. I’m good at Geometry, but I just don’t have the energy for it, you know what I’m saying? And I also think that we are just reading a bit too much in English.”
Chase Seeley has similar thoughts on his classes. Chase said, “I’m excited about Biology B and Band. I’m not excited about Spanish and Algebra. I’ve always struggled with Spanish and then Algebra is just a lot of notes.”
No matter what classes you may be taking in this next trimester, just remember that it is the last trimester of the school year, and it is always worth it to try your best. The teachers are not there to hurt your grades (although it may seem that way sometimes), they are there to help you learn, thrive, and flourish in this amazing educational atmosphere. Keep the learning environment alive, and your grades will follow suit.
