Upcoming Interact Activities by Isabella Smith
This holiday season the Interact Club is helping to collect donations for Christian Neighbors through a soup drive next week.. All the donations of soup ONLY will be going to Christian Neighbors. The Interact Club is putting up posters and information this week to advertise the drive. To make the soup drive fun for everyone, there will be a competition between all of the grades at Saugatuck Middle and High School. Each grade will collect as many cans of soup that they can, and after the drive is over, the grade with the most cans will win a prize.
The Interact Club also recently sold cups over Thanksgiving break to raise money for their upcoming trip. The cups are metal and resemble YETI tumblers. Though the sale is over, the cups were sold for thirty dollars each. They were sold to family, friends, and anyone that wanted to purchase them. They will be using the money collected from selling the cups towards their donation while in the Dominican Republic. The trip is taken every other year if they are able to go. The trip involves the Interact members who apply for the trip to help families and help build things for the people in the Dominican Republic to be able to live a better life.
The members of the Interact Club have also been taking part in a lot of volunteering. Saturday, December 2nd, Frankie B, Liam W, and Mari V volunteered at the Felt Mansion. They volunteered for the event called Winterfest. They took part in helping with the party and helping the staff. Thursday, December 7, Ava, Charlie, Annie and Charlotte are volunteering for the Saugatuck Douglas History Center. They are having a Christmas party and the people volunteering to help tend to the party and help the staff. The Interact Club has been busy this holiday season helping people in need and volunteering for the town of Saugatuck and Douglas. Hopefully the Interact Club will continue to have drives and help this holiday season.
