Islands to Visit on Spring Break by Elliana Zolper
These islands are the perfect place to visit while on spring break! Not only are they safe, but they all have fun activities and gorgeous scenery to see. Each island also has their own water activities that they are known for!
Maui is the second largest island in the state of Hawaii and it is home to the largest dormant volcano in the world called Haleakala. Another thing about this island that makes it special is that it is the road to Hana, which brings you along through all the towns and popular beaches. A fun activity to do while you're there is snorkeling Molokini Crater, where the water is so warm you don't need a wetsuit! On the island, there's the red sand and the black sand beaches which you can find at their state parks.
Ambergris Caye has many fun things to do as well as its beautiful scenery. This island is known for its Belizean food, so food tours are common. A fun stop would also be at Calvin's Green Iguana Park where you can feed and pet. Made right there on the island, they make their own dark chocolate which you can have coffees, desserts, and milkshakes. They also have an event called The Hermit Crab Race at Nautica Bar.
Roatan is home to the second-largest coral reef in the world, which is the perfect place to explore and snorkel through it. If you also want to see more of the coral but not go snorkeling, they have glass-bottom boat tours. The island also accepts American currency which is very useful instead of using the local currency.
Grand Cayman is the largest of the Cayman Islands with a total of three Cayman. The main beach on the island is an award-winning seven-mile beach. There's also a tour available that's a short boat ride to stingrays so that you can feed them and then go into the depths of the crystal cave. A bunch of festivals also go on including Cayfest and Pirates Week which include food and dancing.
