Allison Grumney by Mikaila Jones
This week is senior spotlight week. Allison Grumney (Ally) was interviewed about her senior year. When asked what her future plans are, or what she will do after high school. She responded with: “Relaxing! Then off to Nursing School to become an RN.” Ally is a brilliant student and has accomplished many life and school goals. Some of her goals are to: “Hopefully work my way up through the medical field and make some money.” She is going places and is going to do great things in the future.
While interviewing Ally, she was asked, what are your feelings or thoughts about senior year? Ally answered by saying: “It has gone by so quick, and I definitely didn’t get to enjoy it as much, but I recommend being involved.” This is a very helpful tip because if a student doesn't really get involved in stuff during school they could miss out on a lot.
A fundamental question to ask, especially coming from a sophomore: what is some advice that you would give to an underclassman? Ally responded with: “Enjoy this time, and don’t get bad grades because it will catch up to you.” Some helpful advice that Ally received when she was an underclassman was: “Enjoy this time,” she says.
Ally has gone to Saugatuck since the beginning of her Junior year. When she was asked how she felt when she first moved here she said: “I felt a little intimidated at first, but then I just kind of figured it out along the way and found what I like and what I don’t like.”
When asked if shecould change one this about senior year what would it be, Ally responded with: “I would change some of the social aspects, such as being friends with more people and not being so limited in who I talk to.” Many have agreed with this statement, and said that they wish they could also talk to whomever they wanted to and not have to feel like they have a limit.
What is one thing you are going to miss about being in high school? “I am going to miss the structure and seeing people everyday.” Ally is a very close friend and is going to be missed so much when she goes off to college.
