The New Speaker of the House by Carter Dalton
Shreveport, LA, Mike Johnson was elected by the House of Representatives to be the 56th Speaker of the House. Mike attended Louisiana State University in 1995, becoming a first-generation college graduate. Mike then continued his education through law school. Before entering politics, Mike worked as a private attorney. His political career began when he was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in 2015; he served in that body until 2017. In September during the time of his term in 2016, Johnson summarized his legal career as "defending religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and biblical values, including the defense of traditional marriage, and other ideals like these when they've been under assault" [1]
“The sanctity of human life, and biblical values, including the defense of traditional marriage…” With this passage we can infer that Mike Johnson is a part of the Republican party. With his current leadership position in the House of Representatives, Mike helps other Republican colleagues fight for principles and policies he and other core conservatives believe in. Mike also serves as a “Deputy Whip” for the Congress to help effectively execute the Republican agenda.
Other than being 3rd in line for president and years of schooling, Mike has a beautiful family. Mike and his wife Kelly, a former school teacher and now a Licensed Pastoral Counselor, have been married since 1999 and have four children: Hannah, Abigail, Jack, and Will. Mike has also been a college professor, conservative talk radio host, a media spokesman for one of America’s largest religious liberty organizations, a law seminar instructor, and a board member for national organizations and numerous community groups and ministries.
All in all, Mike Johnson Is a very educated man that has strong views, he has the will power to reach his goals. America is lucky to have a well-rounded, family man speaking for the House of Representatives.
