22 Year Old Assistant Coach Plays JV Basketball by Penelope Grob
Churchland High School's girls basketball season ended early after Arlisha Boykins, an assistant basketball coach at Churchland High School in the state of Virginia, made a major mistake. In a Jan. 21 game against Nansemond River High School, assistant coach Boykins was caught playing in a JV basketball game against their rival school.
Churchland ended up forfeiting the game a week later when the school system was notified of the incident. The best player on the team was out of town for a tournament, so Boykins decided to disguise herself as the unknown player out of town. Instead of trying to keep herself on the down low and keep her real identity a secret, she was talking junk on the court, blocking shots out of bounds, and flexing her arms after making shots. However, besides the cheating and lying, Churchland was still losing in the 4th quarter.
Boykins is no longer an employee at Churchland Public Schools; neither is the head varsity coach, Jahmal Street, who cheered Ms. Boykins won in her “game.” Meanwhile, the parents of the child Boykins impersonated told WAVY-TV 10 that they are not only demanding an apology from the former coach, but also plan to remove their daughter from the school entirely.
