Natalie Tuckerman by Marylou Lepron
2023 is the last year of high school for seniors at Saugatuck High School. Graduation is a new start in the big leagues. This departure can be felt in different ways depending on the person. I asked Natalie Tuckerman, a senior from the 2023 class, to answer some questions about her last year and next year.
What are Natalie’s plans for next year after her graduation? Natalie affirmed that: “Next year, I will most likely be attending Grand Valley to major in social work. I will be living in a dorm and am still searching for a roommate.” Indeed, Natalie already has her plan for next year. Those can be really stressful for some people, but Natalie doesn't think the same : “I am very very excited to graduate and move into college. I love being independent and I am looking forward to living on my own. I don’t think college can come soon enough,” Natalie declared.
But what are her feelings about her Senior year? “I feel like my senior year was sort of a let down, hahah. I thought I would enjoy it a lot more, but at this point, I’m just ready to be done,” Natalie affirmed.
We all need advice from our seniors! This is why I asked her for some advice for the underclassmen. “I would tell them to be nice and make friends with everyone. I feel like some people feel the need to get involved in drama as they grow older and make enemies.” Natalie’s advice is really fundamental. Be nice and everyone will be nice back, don’t do others what you don’t want them to do to you. Like Natalie, stay away from the bad energy.
After all, Natalie is a senior who really wants her senior year to end so that she finally finds the autonomy she loves so much. She will do her own life after May 25 on Graduation Day.
