Spring Sports by Evan Kothman
March 11 marked the beginning of many spring sports such as jv and varsity baseball, girls soccer, and softball,as well as both boys and girls track and field. These sports all take a lot of skill and are difficult to play. It will be fun to start seeing games and competitions start probably in April.
Baseball and softball started and both sports are looking to have good teams and good competition. Neither of these sports is easy. It is hard to prepare for baseball and softball. Many players have to make a full commitment to these sports because it takes hard work and time to gain skill. Hopefully there will be a lot of good games for both sports.
Track is also a great spring sport. There is a lot you can do in track and field. Some activities are long jump, races, and shot put. The track and field team is very good and seems determined to do as good, maybe even better than they have in the past.
Some kids are also dual-sports. That means some people are doing two sports at one time. This is very challenging because they have to balance school, one sport, and another. It's easier said than done; this is not an easy task. When Marcus Silva, a freshman who runs track, was interviewed, he explained that with some practice his team will be set for the season.
