Differences Between Cats And Dogs And Which Pet Is Superior According To Students by Annika Vanderbeek
Cats and dogs have been around for centuries, and the question since then has always been: cats or dogs? Cats and dogs share some qualities but also are the opposite in some, and a lot of people think one pet is better than the other. Keep reading if you want to know how they are alike, how they are different, and which one students think is superior.
A lot of people say dogs are better than cats because dogs are more trainable, but this is very untrue. Did you know that research about cats is ten years behind research for dogs? For this reason, cats are very misunderstood. The main reason cats are perceived as untrainable is actually because people just don't generally train them, but all you need to do is put in the effort.
Now that we’ve covered the misconception about cats, we will now go over dogs. A lot of cat lovers think that dogs are just too rowdy or crazy, and cats are way more laid back and chill. But this can depend on the dog breed. Some of the most energetic dog breeds include the border collie and Siberian husky.
I asked a few people in the journalism class if they prefer dogs or cats, and overall, cats got four votes and dogs got three. Some people who liked cats explained how cats are more lovable, relaxed, and independent. Some dog lovers told me that dogs have more of a personality, and you can form more of a relationship with them.
I favor cats over dogs, but I am also not a dog hater. I like how small cats are compared to most dogs, but this also makes me adore small dogs. Even though I like small dogs, I do think that cats are overall more adorable and cuddly.
In conclusion, it is good to have an open mind when thinking about cats and dogs. Some people are completely neutral when it comes to this topic, and although you may lean to one side more than the other, both animals can be amazing pets.
