The Middle School Dance by Mari Vande Poel
Last Saturday, the middle school had their very own dance. This was held on February 4, 2022 in the glass hallway between the middle school and high school. This was following the high school snowcoming the week before. The dance had snacks and a place to take pictures. Only 7th and 8th graders were allowed to attend. This was a nice experience for them; it was fun for them to dress up and dance like the High School did at Homecoming and Snowcoming.
When students walked in, there were snacks like cookies or popcorn. TThere was also a DJ booth and tables set up with games. Some of the songs the DJ played were “Low” by Flo Rida, “I like it” by Cardi B, “Fireball” by Pitbull, and “1979” by Smashing Pumpkins. All of the students enjoyed dancing to these songs and even formed a dance circle. At one point people started slow dancing. Overall, everyone enjoyed themselves.
8th grader Ella Kuipers says, “I really enjoyed dressing up and dancing with my friends. It makes me really excited for high school dances like homecoming and snowcoming. I loved all of the songs and overall it was really fun.”
7th grader Liberty Kolev, who also enjoyed the dance, says: “The middle school dance was so much fun. I loved dancing and laughing with everybody and it really helped us all have fun. I also enjoyed games like uno and a game that was similar to whack-a-mole. But my favorite part was definitely hanging out with friends. It was a really fun night and I hope we get to do this again next year.”
