This past weekend was full of championship games that took place all over the country, and one of the many games included the Georgia vs. Alabama game, with the teams playing for the SEC championship. At the time of the game, Georgia was ranked number 1 with a 12-0 record, and Alabama was ranked number 5 with a record of 11-1. It was a very close game.
To start the game off, both Alabama and Georgia were struggling and lacking points; both quarterbacks were not playing to the best of their abilities. One thing that Alabama cracked down on was their defense, making it hard for Georgia to score touchdowns. Alabama struggled to run the ball, and the quarterback, Jalen Milroe, completed 13 of 23 passes for 192 yards.
To get things started, Georgia scored in the first 4 minutes of the game, which put them in the lead very quickly. When Alabama got the ball they were unable to connect passes and get fieldage. They were unable to get a touchdown, which resulted in a 43-yard field goal that was complete, bringing the score to 7-3. After Georgia failed to score, Alabama was able to score another touchdown and take the lead in the game. The first half was full of good results for the Crimson Tide as they went into halftime with a lead of 17-7. Georgia went a while without putting any more points on the board, and then it finally happened: by the end of the third quarter Alabama was still winning with a score of 20-10. For Georgia to be able to win the game, they would have to play wisely and the best they could. However, Alabama was able to connect another pass and put 7 more points on the board. These would be the last points they would score. To end the game Georgia scored another touchdown which made the game 27-25. For the rest of the game, Georgia locked down on their defense. Alabama defeated the #1 and took the SEC Title.
