Beetlejuice 2 by Elliana Zolper
This year on September 6th, the horror comedy Beetlejuice 2 will make its way to theaters; however, this could change, as the production of the film was delayed because of the SAG/AFTRA strike. This movie will be a sequel to the 1988 Beetlejuice, which was also known for its horror comedy. Tim Burton, will be directing this movie just like he did with the first one.
Beetlejuice 2 will follow the backstory from the original movie with the Deetz family; however, we don't know that much about the plot. What we do know so far is that it will take place 30 years later and the daughter of Lydia makes a deal with Beetlejuice. The reason why we don't know that much about the new film (except the trailer) is that because they already had a plot settled. This old plot, which was supposed to take place in Hawaii, didn’t go well for them.
The cast includes Jenna Ortega playing as Lydia Deetz's daughter, Micheal Keaton as Beetlejuice, Justin Theroux, Willem Dafoe, and Monica Bellucci. Jenna Ortega will be playing the main role, which makes sense because she was the main character in the Netflix hit Wednesday which is also a Tim Burton film. This movie will be rated PG-13, unlike the original which was rated PG. The reason why it will be PG-13 is because its darker and more mature comedy which could be inappropriate for anyone under 13.
