Meeting Sarah Kimber by Abby Neuens
Sarah Kimber is a ninth grader at Saugatuck, and the school would feel quite empty without her, as she’s incredibly kind and possesses a great sense of humor. She is able to make just about anything funny and can cheer anyone up after a bad day.
She has been at Saugatuck her entire life, and is great at answering questions when being interviewed. She always has interesting answers and keeps people on their toes, which reveals her unique sense of humor. Her favorite color is baby pink, and she loves the morning because it’s quiet and calming. Her favorite time of the day is 7:00 a.m..
When asked to tell a little about herself, she said, “I’m gonna play soccer, I ride horses, I read, my favorite movie series is probably The Hunger Games. I loooooove The Hunger Games, I cried nine times watching the last movie alone.” She is just unable to get over Finnick’s death.
She has had a wide variety of pets, and they seem to represent her spontaneity and uniqueness. “I used to own 16 parakeets, but only 3 had names because we thought we were getting 2 boys, but then we had 16. One was named Car Alarm, one was named Cupcake, and one was named Sky. I used to own three mice, one hamster, a dog, and two cats. Now I only have one cat named Sneak; I love him.” Not many people are able to say they’ve basically owned one section of a zoo, but she can.
Yet another eccentric thing she can pull off is shaving off her eyebrows. When asked about her apprehension to shave them off, she responded, “I have considered shaving my eyebrows off, a lot actually.” It would probably be the perfect style choice for her.
Sarah is a great friend to many and Saugatuck is lucky to have her. She is effortlessly funny and can pull off any joke, but her kindness is no joke at all.
