Saugatuck Boys Volleyball by Caiden Pearson
Wow, the Saugatuck boys' volleyball team is kicking off their season with a bang on March 11. I've heard they're bringing a lot of energy and talent to the court because they had a lot of commitment from players in the offseason, developing wicked serves and powerful spikes. There's this fantastic buzz around town because everyone's excited to see what they can do, especially after last year's season, where the team in many club-level tournaments held their own in the matchups.
The coach and players have been trying to find new players for the team to get more depth. There's this cool mix of anticipation and determination in the air as the team gears up for their first game of the season, which will test their skills and teamwork. You can sense the bonding among the players, who are not just teammates, but friends with each other's backs. This makes a difference on the court, where trust and communication are essential, and it's not just about individual talent, but how well they work together as a unit.
Players can't wait to kick off the season, especially during those intense rallies when the ball is flying back and forth, and it's anyone's game. This is when the true spirit of the team shines through, and win or lose, the team is going to put up a great fight and not back down.
The coach is also very committed to the team, with scheduled open gyms throughout the year, and taking pictures of the team for potential sponsorships so we can do more tournaments and get new warm-up shirts and new jerseys. She also frequently gives the team rides to games because we can't get a bus. This year we will have home games, so if you're in town during a home game, make sure to pop by and support the Saugatuck boys volleyball team.
