2022-23 Basketball Season by Ava Tringali
Now that football, basketball, and volleyball have come to an end, basketball season is just around the corner. Open gym and four on ones have already begun and the teams are starting to take shape as we get ready for the season.
The man, the myth, the legend, the girls varsity basketball coach, Kevin Tringali says, “I was very impressed with how committed our kids were this summer; they showed me how dedicated they are to getting better. We developed some chemistry, worked hard and had some fun together. This in turn has really inspired me to make sure I do my part in giving them everything I’ve got as their coach. We are all really looking forward to getting started.”
Sophomore Chris Foley, member of the boys junior varsity team says, “I'm really looking forward to seeing the team come together again for another season. We're going to work really hard in practice. I'm excited to get to hang out with my friends during practice.”
As a member of the girls JV team, I am just excited to be active and be on a team. To me it's not really about the actual sport or the score, it's more about having something to do and participating in a school sport.
Sophomore Charlotte Gardner says, “I am excited to be a part of the student section and support my friends. I am also excited to do more themes and participate in BeNice.”
Sophomore Sage Larsen, member of the girls JV team says, “I'm excited to get back on the court and work on my speed and shots. It's been fun so far getting to know the freshmen and the new girls.”
Sophomore Cass Stanberry, member of the boys varsity team says, “This season should be pretty good. We're definitely going to put in the time and effort as the season starts. I’m looking forward to being with my teammates and working on plays.”
It looks like Saugatuck High School is pretty excited to start the 2022-23 basketball season! Be sure to show up to the games and check out the Orange Crush!
