The Best Way To Eat An Apple by Abby Neuens
Everyone eats apples the same, right? They’re just such a boring fruit that it’s hard to imagine any other way to eat it other than whole. Wrong! Apples are such a versatile, underappreciated fruit that it may seem like that, but even just in the small Saugatuck High School, people have come up with a wide variety of creative ways to eat such a simple looking food.
Some people would just assume that people simply pick up and eat the entire apple, which is probably the easiest way to eat one, but some high schoolers would beg to differ. For example, Evelyn Jackson, one freshman who happens to be passionate about apples had quite a few opinions about how people are choosing to eat their apples. “Of course there’s the basic way to eat an apple, and while some would call that traditional, I call it boring. If you had a table full of your favorite types of apples in front of you, along with any and all supplies you need to prepare them how you want, do you really think you would just pick up an apple and eat it whole? No! Have you people never seen an apple slicer? They make products specifically so that you don’t have to eat the entire apple. Of course, if you haven’t already figured out this little tidbit about me, my favorite way to eat apples is when they’re thinly sliced.” She was adamant that there are too many ways to prepare a delicious apple snack to not get creative with it.
Out of the many people asked, a whopping eight ways to eat apples were agreed upon as the best ways to turn a so-called “simple” apple into a delicious treat.
