Anna Devisme by Mari Vande Poel
Anna Devisme is currently finishing up her senior year at Saugatuck High School. She is an exchange student this year from France. She did cross country in the fall and just finished up basketball. After this year, she has two more years of school in France because this year won’t count for the French system. After high school, she plans to study physics or mathematics more deeply. She would do this to apply for a large aeronautic school close to where she lives in France, or she would like to join the French Army.
Her senior year has been really enjoyable. She especially likes all of the celebrations like prom, senior night, graduation, etc. She is very glad to do be an exchange student in the US. Anna was asked what advice she would give underclassmen. Here is her response: “It's also a year that goes by quickly, the end is very close and I still can't realize, so if I had any advice for underclassmen, it would be to enjoy this year as much as possible. Enjoy being with your friends because after high school, you won't see them that often.”
Anna says that she’ll never regret this experience or the choice she made to go to another country for a year. Anna also says that it's a funny/interesting experience and that there are many differences from her life at home. She is soon to discover what prom and graduation are like, and she is really looking forward to that. Overall, she is really enjoying her exchange year here and will be sad when it ends.
