Meeting Lexi Brooks by Abby Neuens
Lexi Brooks is a new student to Saugatuck Public Schools as of the start of the second trimester. Even though she was thrown into a brand new school, she has already been accepted as a life-long friend by many students. She is hilarious and has an amazing personality, which she makes known to all by being outgoing and extroverted, no matter how new or uncomfortable her situation may be.
She is able to adapt to anyone around her and is able to match people’s personalities like a pro. She has proved to be an amazing friend to everyone around her, and she’s even kept up correspondence with friends from past schools. As most people who have moved would know, it’s pretty difficult to keep regularly talking to people you used to see everyday once you barely see them, especially as a busy high school student. Most of the time when people move schools, it signifies the end of past friendships and the beginning of new ones, but Lexi is actively proving that trend wrong, as she is a friendship expert.
Even while only being at Saugatuck for one trimester, she’s already made a positive impact on those around her by being compassionate, kind, and funny. She has a spontaneous personality, but she has thoughts behind her words and actions, she doesn’t truly act on a whim. She takes people’s thoughts and feelings into consideration, even if she knows she’s right on something. She exhibits a strong sense of morals and is able to help people through any problem they may be going through.
Lexi is 15 years old and was born on November 1, 2008. She has a multitude of pets and is very close with her family. Her favorite teacher so far is Mrs. Galloway, and she says, “I really do love Mrs. Galloway, she is such a good teacher. I haven’t had a good math teacher in a while, so this is a nice change of pace. She helps me to understand math very well, and she’s an overall very kind person.”
Saugatuck is lucky to have Lexi Brooks in their school, and she’s lucky to be welcomed so nicely. Her and Saugatuck seem to be a perfect match.
