Thanksgiving Plans! by Grace Dombrowski
Thanksgiving break is right around the corner. Saugatuck High School has about a week left until break. Final exams are going on right now, but in a week, students will be able to go home and take a break for a couple of days. Let's hear what the Saugatuck students have to say about their Thanksgiving plans!
Senior Anna DeYoung states that she is going to her aunt's house in Charlevoix for three days. She will leave Wednesday night and then come back Saturday. Anna says that her family cooks a traditional dinner but without turkey. Instead of turkey, they cook steak for dinner. After her amazing getaway she will be working Sunday morning.
Mazie Robinson, a sophomore at Saugatuck High School, plans on going out to the East Coast. Mazie explains that her family goes out on road trips every year, but always to a different place. Mazie has always wanted to visit the East Coast, so she and her brother convinced her parents to go. Mazie is going to go to Delaware on Thanksgiving day and eat lobster by the ocean view. Mazie is super excited for her road trip!
Elsa Dean, a senior at Saugatuck, is going to enjoy her day off on Wednesday. On Thursday she will see her immediate family. On Friday her best friend from her hometown is coming over to see her. She explains that they will go to the beach and do some tourist things so her friend can see her hometown. Elsa explains that they will also go and see sunsets and just catch up on everything.
Natalie Tuckerman, a senior, is going to take a trip to Kalkaska, Michigan. She explains that they will leave Thanksgiving morning. Natalie states that her grandma and cousins on her dad's side will all be there to spend the night. Natalie also says that her grandma is the best cook and will make all of the amazing Thanksgiving food. Natalie can’t wait to see her grandma.
Will Ayers, a senior at Saugatuck High School, plans to have Thanksgiving at his house with his aunt, uncle, two cousins, grandma, and grandpa all on his dad's side. He plans on eating a very traditional dinner and enjoying time with his family. The next Sunday, he is going to his uncle's house on his mom's side with a bunch of his mom's side of the family. He explains that they don’t eat as much Thanksgiving food, but they play a lot of board and card games.
