Students Opinion Of Cafeteria Food by Madeline Villalobos
Cafeteria food is significant because what the students consume from school needs to be healthy and food that they like to eat so they are more focused, prepared to learn, and so they achieve good health.
Xander VerHelst is a senior at Saugatuck who eats school lunch every day of the week when he’s at school. He likes the chicken sandwich; he considers it his go to for lunch, but he also has to say there's something missing on the school option menu: desserts. He does say there are a few desserts, but you have to pay for them. He mentions it is not worth the pay because when he gets the dessert they don't taste too good. He does feel like he has enough time to eat his lunch. Xander admits that he does like the food at home better than what he gets served at school.
Mario Pastor does not eat every day at school, just about 3 times a week depending on his week. Although his favorite lunch is the chicken wings because they're good. He also thinks that the cafeteria is missing some kind of good sweets for the students to enjoy. Mario thinks the cafeteria has better food during lunchtime because they have multiple options to choose from with a good amount of time to eat them, although Mario does prefer his food at home better.
Liam Wester eats school lunch every day. His favorite iss mashed potatoes with turkey and gravy, although he hasn't seen it being served this year. He said he liked it because it was good. Liam does find more effort in the food missing; he would like that rather than the lunch workers just throwing the food they serve in an oven, he would also like seafood and sushi to have something different and good on the menu. Liam does think breakfast is better, although he finds the corn dogs really small, he thinks the cereal is nice and a good breakfast. He does feel like he has enough time to eat for breakfast and lunch, but he doesn’t like how he and other students aren't allowed to take the trays out of the cafeteria. He definitely does not think the food at school is better than what he gets served at home.
