Terrifier 2: Cinema's New Favorite Clown? by Nathan Schaefer
Terrifier 2 is the sequel of the popular horror halloween movie Terrifier. Fellow classmates and teammates Landon Miller, Matt Hartgerinck, Carter Miller and Cass Stanberry all watched it this Wednesday night and said great things. Another article mentioned that there was someone in the audience that passed out and they had to call an ambulance because of all the gore that the movie includes.
This gory movie has been making its watchers all around the United States faint in theaters. A film synopsis after a quick google search state, “Resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County to terrorize a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.” This happens to be very similar to the plot of the first movie, but the director and team on board with the movie seemed to have intentions to make it more bloody and scarier than anyone would have expected.
This movie seems to have a more exclusive release with it not being in a lot of theaters relatively local to Saugatuck. These theaters include ones such as Sperry’s Moviehouse, Holland 7, or the South Haven Theater. After all, this film isn’t suited for the faint of heart.
Some articles have been saying things such as, “This is the new Clown for the face of Halloween” and numerous other things of that nature. Some may compare the levels of gore in this movie to another highly successful horror/thriller franchise by the name of Saw.
My only concern with the success of this movie is if they are going to be able to milk the success of this character to the extent of many other horror classics such as Saw, Freddy Krueger, Jason, and Michael Myers. What many may find funny is how Universal Pictures has found a way to keep Michael Myers and the Halloween movies going for more than 40 years.
