Movies Arriving to Theaters December 2023 by Lexi Brooks
There are many movies that have come or will be coming to theaters in December, 2023. Winter is one of the biggest times to drop movies, so there should be some great movies coming out this month.
Starting off the list is Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé which was set to come out on the first of December. This movie is a recording of Beyoncé’s tour. Also dropped on December first was Silent Night, which is an R-rated action movie about a man who avenges his son's death on Christmas Eve. Dropping on December 8th is The Boy and Heron, which is an anime fantasy movie, hand-drawn about a boy and his talking bird. Wonka, dropping on December 15th is a musical fantasy that tells the origin story of Willy Wonka from the book “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory”.
Leading to the last half of the year there's Aquaman and the Last Kingdom dropping on December 22. This is an Aquaman sequel and continues the story of the underwater superhero. If you like the creators of Minions, a.k.a. Illumination, you may like this upcoming movie they created called Migration. Migration arrives in theaters on December 22 and is an animated comedy that portrays a family of ducks migrating from New England to Jamaica for the winter. Also dropping on December 22 is Anyone But You, which is a romantic comedy about a man and woman who hate each other, but have to pretend to be a couple while attending a wedding. These next two movies also arrive in theaters on December 22 as well. The first movie is The Iron Claw, which is a sports drama about two real-life brothers who shot to stardom in the wrestling field but had many tragedies outside of it. The last movie coming out on December 22 is American Fiction, which is a dark comedy about a black novelist whose publisher pushes him to write a book that adheres to more racial stereotypes.
The last three movies arriving in theaters this month all come out on December 25. The first one is The Color Purple, which is a musical about several black women over the decades. This follows them through many things that they experience throughout the decades. Next is Ferrari, a biopic movie about Enzo Ferrari who created the Ferrari empire in the 1950’s. Lastly is The Boys in the Boat. This is an inspirational, fact-based drama about a college rowing team in 1963 held in Hitler’s Germany. Reading about all of these movies makes it seem like the month of December is ready to have a great collection of movies.
