Varsity Bowling by Noah Conklin
Varsity bowling had three matches this week: Coloma on Monday, which got canceled due to weather, Gobles at home on Tuesday, and South Haven at home on Wednesday. The first win of the boys’ season finally came when bowling against Gobles at home. They won both baker games and won most singles matches to bring in a victory.
As bowling season is getting closer to the end, there is wonder about whether or not varsity bowling will come together and go to regionals. With one win recorded for the bowling team, it is not looking too good.
Now it’s time to talk about varsity boys bowling’s first recorded win. First of all, this match was at home against Gobles. Home advantage could have had something to do with the win. The last time bowling competed against Gobles, they lost big time when everyone on Gobles got their new PRs. This time, however, the Gobles bowling team did not do as well and our Saugatuck bowling team swooped in to take the win for the first of the season.
In the wonder of the rest of bowling’s season, Nick Mohr was asked some questions about it.
First, Nick was asked if he thinks that Saugatuck bowling would make it to regionals or state. He replied, “I think regionals but I’m not sure if they will go to states.”
Next, he was asked what he thinks about the varsity bowling season so far. He asked what the bowling team record was. Nick then said, “I think if they keep putting in the work and effort, the outcomes of the matches will hopefully end up being better.”
Lastly, Nick was asked if he thinks the bowling team will be better next year. Then he replied, “I think you will be worse next year but very much better in two years because of more practice and more people.”
