Kasch Dalton by Luke Barde
Among the new students, there is a kind friendly face. This face is Kasch. Kasch is a new student this year in the 11th grade. And what an introduction he is.
After a long drive moving out of state, Kasch found himself in Hopkins, another small school in Michigan, located just east of Saugatuck. Saugatuck became his school of choice after attending Hopkins during his sophomore year.
When asked how big of a change it was moving from Hopkins to Saugatuck, he said that Saugatuck felt bigger. Being similar-sized schools to Hopkins, this was a shock. When further inquired about it, he told me that Saugatuck was filled with many different types of people, not just farmers. A great observation of our school filled with many different ideals. It's never hard to find your crowd in this small school.
Kasch enjoys that Saugatuck has a friendly environment with many different people to help him fit in. He also enjoyed that Saugatuck isn't so sport-crazy that it's almost a must-do. Having that option is very nice, not needing to play a sport to fit in. However, he does have some interest in some sports. When asked about his hobbies and if he wanted to get into any sports, he responded that he was not in any activities at the moment, but wanted to try in the future. He said his interest was in track, soccer, and cross country.
Some more fun facts about Kasch are: that he enjoys listening to all kinds of music except for rock, metal, and screamo. He also enjoys skiing and snowmobiling during the winter. Kasch is a friendly person and if you're ever interested, go ahead and talk to him, especially if you share any of his hobbies. Saugatuck is full of great kids and we all welcome Kasch as one of our own. Welcome to Saugatuck, Kasch!
