Penn State vs. Michigan Game by Nathan Schaefer
This past Saturday, undefeated Michigan went against an undefeated Penn State football team. It was a very tough game. Going into the half it was still a close game at 16-14 with Michigan in the lead. After halftime it changed into a completely different game.
Corum and Edwards became the first Michigan tandem to each manage to get 150 rushing yards and record multiple rushing touchdowns since 2017. This, with the combination of J.J. McCarthy at quarterback, eventually led Michigan to win 41-17 in a dominant fashion. Michigan was able to find a way to run the ball against a team that has given trouble to other schools previously. This success in the run, in the end, comes down to the talent in the backfield and the offensive linemen up front. This combination is why the two running backs were able to muster up a total of 418 yards rushing.
After Michigan's performance this past Sunday, the doubts of Michigan’s team because of the lackluster schedule that they have played so far have been somewhat resolved. As always, fans are going to doubt the success of the Michigan Football Team, especially Michigan State and Ohio State fans. By sheer coincidence, those are Michigan's next two games. With these games, hopefully they’ll solidify they’re place in the top 4 of college football up there with the likes of Georgia, Ohio St., Tennessee, Alabama, and Clemson.
After all, it didn’t help Penn State one bit that they were playing in the Big House. Michigan's energy was very high because it was Maize out and this was their first game to finally prove themselves to the rest of the league. The only way this game could have gone any differently is if Michigan played away at the Penn State stadium during a white out game. According to a lot of sources that is probably the loudest and most electric atmosphere to play in in college football.
Overall, Michigan is doing great things with their talent and coaching with Jim Harbaugh and the rest of the staff and also being able to recruit some of the best up and coming football players in the country.
