The 2024 JV Baseball Team by Anders Peterson
Phil Czarnecki will be coaching the JV baseball team for the 2024 season. The team will consist of Jack, Kevin, Ben, Oliver G, Brazen, Holden, Ashton, Grady, Chase, Soren, Mason, Evan, and Oliver H. Because of local fundraisers and the proceeds from concessions at past Saugatuck sports games, the baseball team will be getting multiple new tee’s, new catcher's gear, and even a new shed for the dugout, replacing the old shed with a broken door.
For the past two years, the Saugatuck baseball team was unable to have both a JV and Varsity team. But with the huge wave of freshmen willing to play, there will be tryouts to see who will make JV and Varsity.
One notable player on the baseball team is Braison. HeWho has an insane swing, hitting two home runs back in 8th grade. He is ambidextrous when it comes to batting, but is mainly a righty for throwing. This will prove to be an advantage this season for him, as on most fields the right field fence is closer than the left field fence. Because of his skill, though, he may play on Varsity instead of JV.
There aren’t as many sophmores as freshmen this year, but even then, the better sophomores will most likely play on Varsity. This season looks promising for Saugatuck’s JV Baseball team, and if everybody puts in the effort and plays well, they can come a long way.
