Looking Back at Snowcoming by Anthony Carlotto
This year’s Snowcoming Dance took place on the 25th of February. Despite having three snow days prior to the event, which sadly ended Spirit Week on a short note, it was still held in the Collab space on the 25th, which was transformed into a winter-themed party room thanks to both teachers and students.
Despite a smaller crowd, many students say it was just as fun, if not more than Homecoming was. Attendees from all grades got dressed up and donned their best attire. Everyone enjoyed the greatest hits, all thanks to the wonderful DJ Ivan. Many students are happy to look back at Snowcoming and say with confidence that they had a great time at the event.
Fun fact: Did you know that Snowcoming may have originated in our home state, Michigan? Many believe that due to the erratic weather, schools came up with the idea to celebrate a separate dance to make up for the inability to have traditional homecoming events. However, this may not be true, as it became very popular quickly, making it impossible to pinpoint when and where the idea was first introduced.
