Careerline Tech Center by Madeline Villalobos
As most of Saugatuck High School students and/or even parents may know, both Saugatuck public schools and Careerline Tech Center allows students to learn a trade they teach off their experience and knowledge.
Careerline Tech Center is located in Holland, MI and it doesn't just help students prepare for their future, but it also helps the students become better people inside the class and in the world. This also allows students to get to know people and build relationships with them outside of their school districts. If anyone's goal is college, they do not only support and motivate students, they have direct credit options that allow students to earn college credits while taking a tech class.
At CTC there are a variety of trades. Any student could learn in the morning and/or in the afternoon, with approximately 28 fields according to the Careerline Tech Center website. They not only have classes throughout the school year, but they also have a summer program: Future PREP’d. According to their website, they focus on bringing importance and design thinking to students, and within Future PRED students can solve a real challenge with a local business or a community partner.
The pathways that have classes within them are Agriculture, food and natural resources, art and communication, business, management, marketing & technology, construction, Engineering/ Manufacturing, Health Sciences, Human Services, and Transportation.
