Adele Nieuwsma by Caralyn Doucette
The end of this 2022-23 school year is rapidly approaching, and seniors are beginning to feel all the feelings as they finish off these last couple of months. To celebrate this special time, one of our seniors, Adele Nieuwsma, was asked a few questions about her experience this year.
In her time at Saugatuck High School, Adele has been a part of the varsity soccer team as well as the Be Nice club, Interact, Spirit Crew, one season of volleyball, PALS (peer assistant leadership), and NHS. In the fall, Adele plans on attending Grand Valley State University to study nursing. When asked for her thoughts and feelings about senior year, she said, “It’s been amazing to create fun lasting memories with my friends, and I’m feeling really sad to leave the place I’ve learned to call home.”
When asked what advice she would give to underclassmen, Adele said: “Treat everyone with respect and love. Going to such a small school, everyone knows everyone and it's so important to do your part to create an environment you love and feel safe in, and one that others feel safe in as well.”
It sounds like Adele’s past three years here at Saugatuck have been a blast! Good luck next fall and wherever else your future takes you!
