Spirit Week by Kenzie Sanders
Saugatuck High School is having the spring dance, which replaced the Snowcoming dance, on Friday, March 15, 2024. To get the student body excited, the Spirit Crew created a spirit week with many exciting themes. Although it was a short week, the students made the best of it. Spirit week was a great way to encourage school spirit and create a fun atmosphere.
Students got to dress up in different ways, breaking away from their usual clothing. Monday was pajama day, Tuesday was twin day, Wednesday was cowboy vs country club, Thursday was class colors. Although not many students participated this week, there were still a couple people who got caught for this article.
On Monday it was pajama day, and some students really got into the spirit. Evie Brown wore red and black plaid pants with a black crop top. Danica Longoria wore blue fuzzy pants with clouds on them with a white long sleeve. Natasha Villalobos, Anna Ascencio, and Analeah Green all came together to match and wore blue fuzzy penguin pants.
Tuesday was Twin Day, and not only did the students participate, but all the teachers matched wearing a hoodie with blue jeans and a hat. Two sisters who decided to twin were Kenzie Sanders and Jordan Sanders; they decided to wear a pink long sleeve shirt with black cargo pants and a pair of Nike shoes. Another pair of sisters wore the same long sleeve turtleneck in different colors with skirts. Sabrie Sneller, Jennifer Shock, and Faith Czarnecki twinned together and wore their volleyball hoodies with a pair of black leggings and birkenstocks. Mariela Garcia and Ben Maxwell twinned by wearing a sports jersey.
On Thursday it was Country Club vs. Country, and although not many people participated, there’s two people who got caught. Isabel Noguera and Luke Barde both chose Country Club. This was the first year Luke chose country club over country. Isabel Noguera says, “I woke up and there were snakes in my boots, so I had to choose country club over country.”
Good job to everyone who participated in spirit week! Looking forward to seeing even more participants next time!
