Premier League Matchday 25 by Benny Majer
The Premier League Matchday 25 of 38 is now done, and here’s how the games went.
On Saturday, February 17th, 7 out of the 10 games were played. The first game, Brentford v. Liverpool ended in a 1:4 win for Liverpool. Liverpool's goals were scored by Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.
The second game of the day was a blowout for ARsenal, who beat Burnley by 5-0. The Most Valuable Player of this match was Bukayo Saka, who scored two goals, one of which was a penalty. The other goals were scored by Odegaard, Trossard and Havertz.
The next game, Newcastle v. Bournemouth which ended in a 2-2 draw after a last minute (90+2) goal by Matt Ritchie. After this draw, Aston Villa won 2-1 against Fulham, who had more shots and possession during the game, but just weren’t able to score. At the same time, the premier league's 16th ranked team Nottm Forest had a surprising 2-0 win against West Ham, who now lost 3 games in a row. Then, the Wolves had a 2-1 win over Tottenham. I think that this game was the most interesting and fun to watch, since Tottenham, who’s currently on rank 5 had a whopping 72% Ball possession, but still couldn’t win the match.
Then, for the last and most watched game on Saturday, Man City and Chelsea drew after a late goal by Rodri. This goal was very important for Manchester City, since it saved at least 1 point for them and kept up their rank, otherwise Arsenal would now be in 2nd place.
The first game on Sunday was another blow off, as Brighton beat Sheffield United, who have been in the last rank of the premier league for over a month now by 5-0. In the 13th minute, Sheffield United got a red card, which made it even easier for Brighton to score.
After that, Man UNited beat 2-1, after two really early goals by Hojlund in the first and seventh minute. For the first and last game on Monday, February 19th, Everton played Crystal Palace and drew 1-1.
