Champions League Predictions by Benny Majer
Now that this year's Champions League Group Stage is completed, we know which teams are going to compete in the upcoming round of 16. Since there’s already only 16 teams left, I’ll try to predict the outcome of each round of 16, of the quarter finals, of the semi finals and the winner of the Champions League.
For the round of 16, I’m pretty sure about most of the games. Man City against Copenhagen should for sure be a win for Man City, even though Copenhagen has been doing surprisingly well so far. PSG will dominate the match against Sociedad, just like Bayern Munich will defeat Lazio and Arsenal will defeat Porto. Barcelona and Napoli is a bit harder to predict, I’d still say that Barcelona should win this match up. Same thing with Real Madrid and RB Leipzig; Leipzig was doing really well the last few weeks, but Real should still win. The closest games in the round of 16 are probably going to be Dortmund vs PSV, where I’m seeing Dortmund as the winner and Atletico against Inter Mailand, where I’m guessing that Inter will win.
Since it’s not possible to guess the match ups of the quarter finals, I’ll skip this part and continue with the Semi-Finals. For the Semi FInals, I predict Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid competing since all of those teams have done extremely well during the Group stage and also in their own leagues. Let’s assume that Bayern Munich plays Man City and Real Madrid plays Paris Saint Germain, since we can’t predict who plays who. Bayern Munich and Man City are both really strong teams with some of the worlds best players, but in a face off between those two teams, I’d predict Man City as the winner right now, since they’ve played really good in the past few games and lost nearly no games in the past months. But also this match won’t be until a few more months, so we’ll see how both teams are doing by then.
For the other game, I’d say that Paris Saint Germain should win, because they have attacking players right now, but it’s still going to be a really close and interesting match.
So for the UEFA Champions League Final between Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain, I’d guess that Manchester City would win. They both have one of the best forwards with Mbappe for PSG and Haaland for Man City, and both teams are about equally strong, but Man City has been too good this year to say that they wouldn’t win this match up.
