Chiara Marangoni by Caralyn Doucette
The end of this 2022-23 school year is rapidly approaching, and seniors are beginning to feel all the feelings as they finish off these last couple of months. To celebrate this special time, one of our senior exchange students, Chiara Marangoni was asked about her time at Saugatuck and her overall experience of American life.
During her year here at Saugatuck High School, Chiara has had the opportunity to be a part of the basketball and volleyball teams. After graduation, she plans on returning to Italy to finish up her last year of high school. In the future, Chiara would like to go to college to study design or architecture, but has not decided on a school yet.
When asked what her exchange year has been like, Chiara responded, “I’m really happy about my exchange year. I’m enjoying it so much and I’m really sad to leave in two months. I made lots of friends here and I don’t want to leave some of them. But I’m really happy about how I’ve changed and grown during this year.”
Chiara was further asked what advice she would give to underclassmen and she responded with: “Live your life during high school and try to do everything you can and want. I personally recommend studying abroad because it’s a life changing experience.”
Next year Chiara’s fun character and Italian accent will be missed by many. Best of luck on whatever your future has in store for you, Chiara!
